It works as intended. Keep in mind that I managed to fit in Southwire 12/3 SJOOW cable but it is a tight fit. Under the screw-in nut there is tapered sleeve. This one is way too small. There is another that is larger inside the plug itself. If you use a thick cable like this one,use the larger one. It is still slightly smaller than the outside jacket of the cable so you have to widen slightly the plastic teeth of the sleeve a bit to get it through the cable. It is actually easier than my explanation. There is no color coding on the terminals. Inside the plastic housing of the plug there is barely visible molded letter L – that is for the black hot wire. N – that is your neutral white wire. The lower screw is where your green ground should be. After tightening the metal screws and the plastic nut this thing is rock solid.
