Metal Mosaic Bistro Patio Set with 2 Folding Chairs – Outdoor Garden Table & Chair Set
This is a very heavy, very sturdy steel safe that definitely appears to be “pry-proof” and unhackable. It works exactly as described in the instruction pamphlet and is like a ton of bricks! I am amazed that there were no missing parts (keys, mounting bolts) and no dents when it arrived in pristine condition. I agree that you should be able to easily move it with 2 people as described, but I “waddled” it into the house without any problem all by myself, and I’m not a weight lifter, lol. I used a roll cart and those felt pads for moving to get this 120-lb safe to where I needed it. And I gotta give God the glory–HE helped me too! I didn’t mash any fingers or toes by accident when I moved it, LOL! ;-)When you first receive it, without power you can unlock the safe by using the master key and the secondary “emergency” key–ie, this is fail-safe (pun intended) and dummy-proof operation. If the boards ever get fried (ie, the smart controllers for opening the safe), you can always still open the safe just with these 2 keys (for each safe section). Therefore, it’s good to hide the secondary “emergency” keys in a very good secret location. After you open up the safes with no power, install your batteries (total of 8 “AA”) and then set new admin and user passcodes (please do NOT keep the default manufacturer passwords! that would not be wise). And after that you can just easily use the master key and your passcode to access the safe usually. The secondary “emergency” key (and master key) for each safe can be used though if your batteries happen to die. I got the most operational help from not only the pamphlet but the online videos here too. Take your time to get setup…. There are a total of 8 keys, and only 2 are for each of the 4 keyholes. Ie, you have one duplicate key for each of the 4 keyholes.I had no problem with the appearance of the internal shelving, internal lining, or trim. Note that the inside key and paper holders on the back of the door are plastic (fyi), but they look nice. The one shelf is not solid enough though, and I doubt it will hold heavy items, so I removed it, along with its plastic shelf brackets. The bottom “secret compartment” is not cheap nor “jiggly,” and is non-pryable as some seem to have reviewed and indicated. This is an amazing deal– it has 3 times the typical 2 cubic-foot space (it totals 6.1 cubic feet) for only an extra $100 — if you compare other similar models and sizes and prices. I don’t think it’s wise to buy the 2 cubic-foot safes because someone could walk off with one that size easily, you know? The interior lining is not leather, but is probably flame-retardant. Due to the mounting holes on the side of the safe, I doubt the safe is waterproof either. I would think it’s water-resistant though; the holes are small. By the way, the safe came with the wall-mounting hardware if desired. I think that is hilarious. Again, this thing weighs a ton, and “hanging it” on the wall sounds crazy to me …haha.Again, a great buy!
