As a guy who does not do a lot of ironing, this is the perfect space saving size for ease of use and storage. The folding mechanism is simple but well designed so that the supports allow for more overhang of the ironing board than other similar table top boards I have seen. This lengthier cantilever lets you get easier access to more of your shirt/pants especially for pull-over type shirts like polo shirts that might need touch up after washing. Although the base of the board keeps the ironing board very stable and well supported, in spite of the rubber pads on the base, the board could be made more resistant to sliding around on my granite table top. I use a silicone mat under the “legs” (its actually more of a folding base) of the ironing board to keep it from sliding around on the table top but it really isn’t absolutely necessary as it doesn’t slide around that much. The padded cover that comes on this board is as nice as any and just as good and well padded as the ones on a full size ironing board. Because the base folds up flat against the bottom of the board, and because of the light/medium weight of the board, it takes up very little space in storage and I just bent a vinyl padded coat hanger into a hook so that I could hang the ironing board up in my coat closet when not in use. Other than wanting it to be more a little more slide resistant (hence the 1 star deduction), this is an excellent replacement for, and I prefer it over, a full size stand alone ironing board.
